The Lenore Cox Project

The Lenore Cox Project was formed in April, 2006, as a non-for profit 501(c) 3 organization located in DuPage County, Illinois dedicated to educating seniors about living well today.  It was formed as a tribute to my mother Lenore Cox who passed away on March 25th 2005. She would have been 90 years young on June 16th of 2005.  In her last years she was riddled with pain associated with arthritis, and suffered from dementia. In her memory, we have created an opportunity for senior citizens to be educated as to the benefits of alternative medicine and complementary therapies.  Although Lenore will not benefit from this opportunity, hopefully many others will.

It is no secret the age boom is upon us. The number of older people and their need for healthcare, housing and other resources is increasing dramatically. The public, media and even some visionary politicians are taking note. Yet translating this heightened awareness to positive action is the bigger, more important challenge. A challenge that will require everyone regardless of age, health, independence to reevaluate the value and purpose of aging in our society.
